Garden Turnips November 30th 2008

I have yet to harvest everything and turn over my garden to rest for the winter…been pressed for time. Luckily we haven’t had a hard frost yet. I still have carrots, potatoes and turnips to dig up, and a few broccoli plants are still going. Here are some turnips. I’m going to freeze the greens and store the roots (the turnips) in the fridge. I use them in mashed potatoes, chili, stews, soups, and veggie breads.

Here is the broccoli; no heads this late but I’m going harvest these and use the leaves and stalks in stir frys, soups, and salads.
