No we are not vegans though I’ve attempted veganism a few times. While vegetables, legumes, fruit and grains are the bulk of our family diet, the kids and I are lacto-ovo no-flesh vegetarians. This means we eat no animal, bird, or fish/seafood flesh of any kind but eat dairy products and chicken eggs. My husband is a former lacto-ovo vegetarian, he now sometimes eats poultry and seafood, very sparingly red meat. A lot of the recipes I post are vegan though and I am working on my experiences as a past vegan in my book Veggie Mama Goes Vegan. It includes lots of vegan info and vegan recipes!
