Pink Band Skirt & Blazer

Trula Style Fashion November 13th 2007: Pink Band Skirt

This is a skirt I made inspired by one spaceimaginarium (fellow wardrobe re-mixer on flickr) has, check it out. I loved her skirt and as soon as I saw it I wanted to make one. I had a swatch of new pink fabric my daughter gave me, it was left over from one of her sewing projects. She knows I love pink so she gave it to me. I was saving it for something special!

With the exception of the pink fabric the skirt is reconstructed from other clothing items. The top dark grey part is from an old pair of pants I could no longer fit, as is the brown part. The light blue fabric at the bottom is from an old pair of footie pajamas from one of my kids when they were a toddler. The feet were all torn so I could not give them away. I loved the color so I kept them to be used in some sewing project. I am considering sewing up the edge of the bottom but I like this raggedy look. We’ll see.

For my top I am wearing a thrifted dark blue blazer and underneath a stretchy top blue tee. No shoes in this pic but wearing my dark black flats when I go out.
