I Pulled the Tomatoes…Well, Half of Them

I pulled half of my tomato plants today, as it is finally getting cold here in Northeast Ohio. I had lots of baby tomatoes and some beefsteak tomatoes in varying stages of ripeness. I will set the green ones in the window to ripen. They won’t taste as good as tomatoes ripened on the vine and under hot summer sun, but they still taste better than store-bought tomatoes. I got tired and cold halfway through, but will pull the rest this coming Sunday. I knew I still had lots of tomatoes popping on the plants but didn’t realize how many until I pulled them up and got a close-up look. Most were too little but I did pick a few of them to ripen in the kitchen. Some plants were still putting out blooms!
